Very Important Announcment!

Once again our laboratory both for friday and saturday will be at the internet cafe. You are going to do the following:

1. Create a group of 5 members.
2. During our time 7:30-10:30(fri & sat), together with your groupmates,you have to be in a conference room in the yahoo messenger and invite me to join (am_guirit@yahoo.com).
3. You have to make sure that you have an individual cam & headset.
4. If everything have been set, you have to do these:
The author of our book just provide us the answers for "what". Your task is to answer the "how". You have to discuss ....
5 ELEMENTS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE COOPERATIVE LEARNING
1. a common goal
2. interdependence
3. interaction
4. individual accountability
5. social skills

ADVANTAGES OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING
1. encourages active learning, while motivating students
2. increases academic performance
3. promotes literacy and language skills
4. improves teacher effectiveness

TASKS TO ENSURE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING IN CLASS
1. assigning students to mix-ability teams
2. establishing positive interdependence
3. teaching cooperative social skills
4. insuring individual accountability
5. helping groups process information

To answer the "how", sample question that you will discuss is in number 1 for 5 elements is " How to achieve a goal in a cooperative learning environment?" and so on...

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. The group leader shall create another blog in his/her dashboard entitled
" Cooperative Learning with the Computer "
( by: write the names of groupmates )
2. After setting up the blog, go to the blog setting by clicking setting,
then click permission, then in the permission page, invite your
groupmates as author, then the groupmates shall open their gmail account
and in there they will see the invitation then accept. OK?

TO ENSURE THAT YOU WILL BE GUIDED, BE THERE IN ANY INTERNET CAFE DURING OUR LABORATORY TIME 7:30 - 10:30 OR ANY TIME BETWEEN THAT TIME. I'LL BE THERE TO MONITOR.
